Improved heat transfer
Removing the CPU’s integrated heat spreader (delidding) and applying liquid metal thermal compound allows the heatsink to make direct contact with the dies, significantly improving thermal transfer. This can typically reduce CPU temperatures by 10–15°C, enabling lower noise levels or higher boost frequencies.
Precision-made spacers and screws
Includes heat-resistant ABS spacers and corresponding screws to compensate for the removed heat spreader height, allowing proper installation of Noctua coolers. Please note that delidding tools, CPU protection frames, and liquid metal thermal compound must be purchased separately.
Ideal for use with offset mounting bars
Compatible with Noctua’s AM5 offset mounting bars (NM-AMB12, NM-AMB13, NM-AMB14, NM-AMB15), which concentrate mounting pressure over the CCDs. When combined with direct die cooling, this can provide additional temperature reductions of up to 2°C.
Compatible with most popular Noctua CPU coolers
Supports both single- and two-piece fastening brackets, making it compatible with most Noctua CPU coolers since 2005 (see compatibility tab), including popular models such as NH-D15(S), NH-D14, NH-U14S, NH-U12A, NH-U12S, NH-U12P, and NH-U9S.
3D-print at home option
The included spacer designs can be 3D-printed at home using STL files available on Printables.com, allowing flexible customization for different mounting setups.

Developed in cooperation with professional overclocker and direct die cooling expert Roman “der8auer” Hartung, the NM-DD1 is a mounting spacer kit that enables the use of a wide range of Noctua CPU coolers with delidded AMD AM5 processors (see the compatibility tab).
By removing the CPU’s integrated heat spreader (delidding) and mounting the heatsink directly onto the dies, heat transfer efficiency is significantly improved, typically reducing CPU temperatures by 10–15°C. The NM-DD1 includes spacers that compensate for the removed heat spreader height, as well as custom longer screws for secure installation.
Please note that additional components required for delidding and direct die cooling—such as a delidding tool, protective frame, and liquid metal thermal compound—must be purchased separately.
